Our History
On June 18, 1874, thirteen people, ten women and three men living in Martinez, California gathered to form a church covenant in fellowship with the Congregational Churches in California.
Our congregation voted to join the United Church of Christ in 1960. Our congregation voted to become an Open and Affirming congregation on July 2, 2005.
We are the caring and thoughtful stewards of a 97-year old historic church building seeking to make the best use of it for both the congregation and the community-at-large.
In 2024 we celebrate 150 years of being church together through many generations.
Today we see ourselves as stepping into a future alongside our loving God who makes all things new.
